Accountable/Named GP for all Patients

The surgery provides all patients with a named GP who will have overall responsibility for the care and support that our surgery provides to them.

We need to divide our patients evenly between all of our Doctors so they can manage their workload. Therefore to do this fairly and impartially we register new patients to the GP with the smallest workload.

We know that some patients will wish their named GP to be a particular doctor. We can only assign you to a GP who has the smallest workload. You will be booked in with your usual GP the majority of the time for routine appointments. Urgent appointments will usually be booked with the next available clinician. Your usual GP will not be available at all times.

You do not need to take any further action and will be informed of your named GP in due course. In the meantime, if you wish to be told the name of your accountable GP, please ask the receptionists when you are next in the surgery.
